You can measure that the oxygen decreases and the carbon dioxide rises in the room immediately after the room starts to be filled with pre-storage products, this is related to the fact that the fruit starts to breathe after harvest: Fruits take Oxygen -O2- after harvest and start to produce Carbon Dioxide -CO2. N2 Generators reduce the O2 level in the cold room immediately after loading and reaching the core target temperature in order to reduce the respiration rate and extend the storage time.
The VPSA (Vacuum Pressure Swing Adsorption) technique is based on a completely energy-efficient low pressure principle. The oil-free air motor prevents the activated carbon from being contaminated with residual oils, thus doubling the life of the carbon.
